Relationships are life’s biggest joys, but at the same time, they sure can make life complicated. Fixing them is not always as straightforward as we would like. Repairing other problems in life – like a broken window, a flat tire or a blown electrical circuit – usually just takes the right tools and a little skill. Relationships just aren’t as easy. Sometimes, it seems no matter what you do, the other person cannot see your point of view.
“Since God so loves us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” 1 John 4:11-12
Our Heavenly Father is the inventor of relationships! When I look back at my life, I can almost see His design of bringing us together and weaving in the bonds of laughter, celebrations, adventures and even day-to-day routines. Some would call them bouquets of unique personalities and gifts that blend and complement each other through love. With God, whose Spirit lives in us, He designed Himself to be the ribbon that binds us together. He invites us to invite Him into the complicated bonds and misunderstandings that can happen in relationships. We do this through prayer.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8
We may strive to always be on our best behavior, but that may not always happen. With Abide, we can bring our situation to the Lord and ask Him to protect the relationship, heal the wounds and give us His guidance and strength to move forward.
Abide is introducing a new series of identity prayer guides, based on relationships. Since women and men often view relationships differently, the guides will be geared toward our identities as Men and Women of God. We are starting out with four guides but we plan to build out many more. All topics we selected were the most requested by Abide prayer warriors.
May I be like a tree planted by the rivers of Your living water so that I will bring forth fruit in season that won’t wither (Psalm 1:3)
The four guides are the following:
- Being A Single Woman
- Divorce Recovery For Women
- Gaining Respect For Men
- Finding Purpose At Work For Men
The links above lead to Youtube videos we have created for the first step of each series. We pray these guides bring His peace, comfort and divine protection over your life.
